I just read the above post and am almost at a loss for words. This is the first time I have ever seen this low a class posting on this site.

While other photographers and myself have been somewhat at odds over the value of digital photography and admittedly there have been some lively discussions on the subject I cannot comprehend your disgraceful posting here which has absolutely nothing to do with photography or what this site is all about.

Further more your moving to New Mexico seems a bit senseless since New Mexico was a part of Mexico, hence the name New Mexico, so why would you move there to get away from Mexicans? What did you expect to find little green men in space ships?

Your ignorant postings, meaning all of you, has no place on this page and it should be removed. As far as Mexicans go I am extremely grateful to one great Mexican named Pedro Meyer for the opportunity to not only read and enjoy this site but also to be able to post here.

Take your hate filled rubbish and go away. By the way go back to 1st grade and start over. Your English, if that is what it is supposed to be is deplorable.

How do I understand this writing, this hatred [message #633 is a reply to message #96 ] Thu, 21 April 2005 19:06 Go to previous message

Your writing Mr. O'Conner writing in the forums is sad...how does one comprehend hatred of this sort? My husband (Cree Nation) said that for years the Cree hated the Dene (Chipewan)--that there was a history there of unresolved disputes....they were historically warrior like enemies. What is the history here? Is this an articulation of the need for a scapegoat nation--? I think of Canada where those who had had their land taken away in the old country participated in the taking away of native lands.

I continue to participate in that denial. Hatred had to play a role in that. But the hatred has become non specific over the generations--I can displace it anywhere I choose, as long as I don't break the law. Stealing land was not against the law for nation builders.

What are the possible relationships between two peoples that have been historically deeply prejudiced against in the U.S. ? The African nation and the Mexican nation. Is there competition? Intermarriage? Is this a personal war?

How is hatred taught?

How is it untaught?

Is there an honor in warriorship? In my husband's culture not so long ago you became of age when you became a warrior, a hunter, a trapper.

"Having enemies is still important to me! Someone to fear and someone to honor; most importantly, someone to learn from." James Nicholas

There is a man I called Newfeld that I spoke to that said that violence
comes from a lack of attachment. From being separated. Or feeling separated, not a part of.... It sounds like you, Mr. O'Conner are defining yourself as separate from Mexicans in a prideful way---in this negative identification with what you are not attached to you become better than--can stomp on the scapegoat---are dangerous. Arrogance and hatred combined.

This sounds like street politics. Of the worse kind...the kind that comes out of gang wars. Why does that exist? Is this bullying?

What happens if you meet a Mexican that you can attach to, can love and
be loved by? Which is to say: why have you written this here in these
particular forums? Is this by chance? Did someone, perhaps, point you
in this direction as an example of good Mexicans, inadvertantly giving
you an opportunity to rant? Reveal yourself? Is this the effects on
alcohol on a weak liver--a ceaseless rage?

How do I understand you? (I don't want to excuse you in any way. This is very wrong.)

Is this like placing the burning cruxifix on the
lawn?
